I dont share my primary phone number with a gal until I meet her in person. I do have a backup phone that I check daily for messages & calls, but most are spam, and so are not returned, and if a gal insists, I will give her that one. I have had many women give me phone #s, addresses, even full names after just a few contacts. I always wonder at thos women that wish to have a 1st contact in person in their home tho, what the hell is wrong with them? I would NEVER do that !!!!

No, no phone numbers until we meet face to face. No real need to and if it's not right then it's much cleaner to part way. A second meet or the slim odds we bump uglies on the first meet then I'm happy to share it. Providing things went well which so far so good in that area.

I have thought about getting a burner phone just for this site only.

I'll use Kick from time to time.

I usually wait for a bit of chats to see where it's going, before I give anyone my phone number. Since I've been back on the site, I've given my number to two ladies that I haven't met. One I regret..and use as a reminder. The other I don't regret a bit. She's a wonderful lady.

For women, I'd think caution would rule the day.

Oh hun I totally agree with you here, I get first time emails with numbers. And I am like seriously I am going to call someone I don't know.. I don't think so, it gets deleted. There has to be some times to get to know someone, and make sure there is some kind of chemistry there.. I hope you enjoy your Thursday..

Seduce the mind and see what a wonderful adventure the body will take you on..

Short answer, absolutely not.

I get messages from supposedly young women inviting me to text message them. I'm oldish and less than desirable but if "she" has my phone number I'm open for all sorts of ads and spam calls. I have a drug dealer phone (as my kids call it) that I occasionally give out but that from people I talked to from Craigslist. I haven't met anyone from here who I thought was that trustworthy.

Yesterday was National World Mental Health Day... As a leading candidate for any clinical study out there - I have managed to have conversations with myself. They've lead nowhere - so I hung up on myself. Btw, back in the day with the rotary phone there was a trick to use so that you COULD call yourself. Probably before your time...

I usually try to move over to email first then if it's good I'll suggest a call.

I never give out my phone number and I have a special email site just for contacts from here. You need to protect yourself first. Gender is a non-factor in taking care of your safety

I never give out my phone number until I have met several times in person. I also have a separate email account just for messages from this site. You are responsible for your own safety- think about it

Ya know, sometimes communications between men and women seem like smoke signals . . . on a windy day.

Always meet , before passing over phone numbers. Nobody is going to develop trust on the internet/skype, or talking on a phone without meeting first.

Hi Wonder167.

thanks for posting this "phone number" topic.

Recently, a blogger that reads me, sent me a request for my phone number.

I was uncomfortable sharing it with her... I've shared my contact information when it made sense to me...

Perhaps, my natural progression is: "IM"; "email"; other site, and other options.

So, yes, I feel the same way that you do about that.

Now, I don't think she is disingenuous or evil, it's just that "space" thing for me...

I respect people's space... the word "no"... and, the entire journey...

I'm not here for the "hit & run"...

thanks, again for posting...

reminded me of this one...

Niia - "Telephone"

I love it when you text me first
Love it a little too much
I've been sitting here
Impatiently
Waiting on a call from you
Said you'd call me when you got home
Well I guess you lied
Dial my number baby, it's easy to find
I'll call you back if I'm not there in time

Oh there's pressure
And pain
To you it is always the same
Go on and use me
Use me up
Keep playing this telephone game

I wait for your call
Because my line's wide open
Makes no sense at all
You just keep me holding
Da da da da da DA
Yeah, my lines wide open
Da da da da DA
You just keep me holding...

I've had quite a few guys offer me their numbers to text or call. However, I'd rather arrange the initial meeting through this site. Despite its bad , I've managed fine with arranging meetings via IM.

i think we should put out so the other members can prank call them...if they are stupid enough to give out their personal information on the first contact, they deserve to get annoyed...haha...

No phone number, until there is a lot of information exchanged on the crappy site included IM or messenger. these sites with included phone number for call or text is like playing Russian roulette with your life.. not sure I would even allow one of my cloned g-mail or y-mail email addresses out..

kik is the way to go and to verify the person with an actual live camera shot which is marked as "camera". Anything less is a lie. phone #s after you meet and mutually agree.

Yea. Giving personal contact info is best done in stages. Ki.ck then cell. Also you can adjust how your number/name appears on someone's phone. No need for them to have immediate access to your last name.

I've had people give me theirs quickly, but I'm not comfy either. I never do. It's hard, though, when the IM on here is so bad.

I never give out my number until I actually know someone.

I wouldn't contact someone who sends their phone number right off the bat like that. I wouldn't send mine until I knew the person better.
